How is your meat different from the “grass fed” stuff at the grocery store? +
Great question — and this is a big one. Over 70% of grass fed beef in the U.S. is actually imported, and since the term “grass fed” is largely unregulated, a lot of what’s on store shelves was actually grain-finished. Even labels like “free range” or “natural” are used by factory farms to make it sound like animals were raised on pasture when they weren’t. We source exclusively from American family farms and verify that our cattle are 100% grass fed and finished — no grains, no GMOs, no antibiotics, no added hormones or steroids, and no pesticide-treated pastures. “Pasture-raised” is the claim that actually means something, and that’s exactly what we deliver.
What kind of meat do you offer? +
We offer four types of high-quality protein: 100% grass fed and finished beef, pasture-raised chicken, pasture-raised pork, and wild-caught salmon. Everything is sourced from regenerative American family farms and sustainably managed U.S. fisheries — never imported, never factory-farmed. A joint study between the USDA and researchers at Clemson University concluded that grass fed beef is higher in vitamins A, D, E, and K, higher in total omega-3s, and lower in saturated fats compared to grain-fed beef.
Where does your meat come from? +
All of our meat is born, raised, and harvested entirely in the USA — we never import from other countries. We work exclusively with small-scale American family farms that use regenerative farming practices. When you buy from us, you’re also directly supporting those families and helping them continue farming methods that have been passed down through generations.
What box sizes do you have, and how much do they cost? +
We have three sizes: 10 lb, 15 lb, and 25 lb. The 10 lb box starts at $119 for subscribers (regularly $149). Our prices are often over 20% less than what you’d find elsewhere for meat of this quality. Every box is fully customizable, so you pick the cuts and proteins you actually want — no mystery assortments.
Can I choose what goes in my box? +
Absolutely! You have full control over every item — protein types, specific cuts, quantities, all of it. We do practice whole-animal use to keep costs down and distribute cuts evenly across our members, but you’re never stuck with something you don’t want. You can customize each and every item so you only receive cuts you know and love. And if you ever need a hand, our customer support team is happy to help.
Do I have to subscribe, or can I just do a one-time order? +
Either way works! You’re welcome to place a one-time order with zero commitment. What are your animals fed? +
Our cattle eat grass and only grass — they’re 100% grass fed and finished, meaning grains never enter the picture. Our pigs are rotationally grazed to fresh pasture every single day and provided with an abundance of natural food sources. Our chickens are raised on pasture, stimulating their natural foraging instincts — a far cry from the confined conditions of factory-farmed, “cage-free,” or “free-range” operations. All supplemental feed is non-GMO, and none of our animals are ever given antibiotics, added hormones, or steroids.
How are the animals raised? What about the environmental impact? +
All of our animals are raised on open pasture — no feedlots, no factory-farm confinement. Our farmers use regenerative methods that go well beyond just avoiding harm. When cattle are properly raised without feedlots, grains, and pesticides and allowed to graze naturally, it actually has amazingly beneficial effects on the land: rebuilding topsoil, promoting plant and animal biodiversity, enhancing local ecosystems, improving water retention, and even sequestering carbon. We never use chemicals or sprays on our pastures — instead we rely on rotational grazing, composting, and natural methods to keep our animals healthy and the environment protected.
Is your seafood sustainably sourced? +
Yes. Our salmon is wild-caught by American fishermen using sustainable practices. Wild-caught fish offers superior quality to farmed fish — more flavor and a fresher, lighter taste. Our sourcing helps maintain ecological balance without causing overpopulation or destruction of natural habitats, so you can enjoy great seafood without the guilt.
How is the meat shipped? Will it show up in good shape? +
We ship everything frozen and well-insulated so it arrives in great condition. In some areas, one of our drivers will actually hand-deliver your order in a reusable, insulated tote. For more rural locations, we ship via UPS with compostable or recyclable packaging. Shipping is always free for subscribers.
How often will I get deliveries, and can I change my schedule? +
That’s completely up to you. You can choose deliveries every 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 2 months, or 3 months. And if something comes up — a vacation, a full freezer, whatever — you can easily push your delivery date back at any time. No penalties, no hassle.
